Course Description

Statistical Process Control (SPC)

A manufactured product is designed to perform a specific function. To accomplish this, a set of specifications is established. As long as the product is in accordance with the design specification, the product will perform as required. A quality product is defined as one which is within specification. SPC uses statistical methods to help companies control their manufacturing processes. The SPC unit provides participants with an overview of the tools used to produce products within specifications.

•         State the two main types of process variation and explain the differences

•         Identify variable and attribute data types from a selection of quality characteristics

•         Complete and interpret a Run Chart

•         Identify and interpret an -R Chart

•         Identify and interpret X-MR Charts and/or Attribute (C) Charts
